MCA partners with the Southern Baptist Association of Christian Schools
The board of MCA voted to become a member
of SBACS. SBACS exists to promote the education children toward a biblical
worldview by providing information, training, fellowship and avenues of
influence for pastors, educational leaders and God’s people.
MCA is
represented by over 25 different churches many of which are Southern
Baptist. We have board members and staff members from SBC churches and
share the same vision and goals for our students. We are happy to be
partnered with SBACS as we continue to grow as a school of excellence. To
learn more about SBACS please visit their web site at www.sbacs.org.

Planning for the future is already in the making by the purchase of
28 acres of land. This land will be used for future
expansion as well as a high school. Crews have already been
busy doing ground work to get ready for future construction.
Chapel Time Every
Friday @ 8:00 am
Come by and see the children and participate with Mrs. Jenkins and Brother Mike as they have praise and worship time with the children. We are sure that you will receive a blessing. Marshall Christian has already had children asking Jesus to come into their hearts!

Marshall Christian Sets Middle School for Fall
Marshall Christian
is continuing to grow. Not only are they expanding to offer classes for 2,
3, and 4 yr olds and kindergarten for half and full day but now offering
middle school. MCA middle school will consist of grades 5-7 and will meet
in their own part of the school facility.
The students in these grades
will be able be on a 7 period day and will change classes. Students will
have lockers. The students will take 6 required classes daily - math,
English, science, history, Bible and Physical Education. In addition the
students will be required to take a class in Computer Technology. The
electives offered for the first semester will be Honors Choir (3 days a
week), Praise Band and Team (2 days a week), Reading Enhancement, or
Spanish (online) Second semester electives will include some of the above,
as well as, Drama, Art and Banking and Finance. Praise Band will include
instruments such as keyboard, drums, piano, acoustic, electric, and bass
guitar. Student auditions will be held in the summer and the first week of
school.
All 6th and 7th
graders will be required to take one class online. Technology is the wave
of the future and MCA wants its students to be totally prepared for the
academic and business world of tomorrow.
The sports program will begin
in the fall with basketball for both boys and girls with additional sports
including cheerleading to follow in 2009. As the school continues to expand,
it will become a part of the Alabama High School Athletic Association.
The Honors Choir will travel
to area churches, nursing homes, civic organizations, and to several
Christian colleges next year. During the 2009/2010 school 6-8th
graders will take an educational trip to Washington D.C.
MCA is excited about adding
these additional opportunities for students in grades 5-7 and is dedicated
to adding a grade a year through 12th grade. A school has to be
two years old before it can apply for accreditation. The school is already
in candidacy status for accreditation and is working diligently to prepare
for the accreditation team to visit.
MCA Auction April 5, 2008! A
night of "Unveiling the Secret Garden" was a huge success!! Marshall
Christian was able to raise over $50,000.00 to go toward the school,
